There are 3 main boards that govern METCAD 9-1-1 and our systems. The METCAD Policy Board, the Emergency Telephone System Board, and the Public Safety RMS Board. Below are descriptions of each of the boards, their membership, and agendas and minutes from their meetings.

METCAD Policy Board 

The METCAD policy board is the governing board of METCAD. This board meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at 8:30 am. This board consists of 2 members from the following agencies: City of Champaign, City of Urbana, Champaign County, University of Illinois and the Village of Rantoul. The board also has 1 member each representing rural police departments and rural fire departments.

Emergency Telephone System Board 

The Emergency Telephone System Board meets annually to accept and budget 9-1-1 surcharge funds collected by the state of Illinois. This board consists of 2 members from each of the following agencies: City of Champaign, City of Urbana, Champaign County, University of Illinois, and the Village of Rantoul.


Public Safety Records Management System Board  

The Public Safety Records Management System Board meets quarterly and governs the Public Safety Records System used by public safety departments throughout the county. This board consists of 2 members each from the following agencies: City of Champaign, City of Urbana, University of Illinois, Champaign County, and the Village of Rantoul.
