9-1-1 surcharge remittance In Champaign County

The voters of Champaign County have approved a surcharge of $1.50 per line on all wireline (home and business) telephones.  The Champaign County Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) has designated METCAD as the collection point for ALL wireline surcharge funds in Champaign County.  METCAD then distributes this revenue between the two Public Safety Answering Points operating in the county.

If you are a Telecommunicaiton Carrier, please submit your monthly report using the Section 725.Appendix A form.  Please indicate how many access lines are located within the corporate limits of the Village of Rantoul and how many are located in the remainder of the county.

Surcharge rate: $1.50 per access line, per month

Wireless surcharge is collected by the State of Illinois through the Illinois Commerce Commission.
