MDICE INFORMATION FOR SCANNER ENTHUSIAST If you are one of the many scanner enthusiasts who monitors public safety radio communications for fun, or a member of the local news media monitoring for breaking news... fear not! The MDICE system can be monitored by digital capable 800 MHz scanning receivers. Specifically, the scanner needs to be capable of receiving digital trunked radio transmissions in Motorola Digital Astro APCO 25 format, 9600 baud control channel. While METCAD has not completed any testing of any digital scanners, we are told that the *Uniden BC996T and BC396T models are fully compatible with our system. *Radio Shack claims the Pro-96 to be compatible as well. *METCAD makes no endorsement of these products or guarantee of compatibility with the MDICE system. All public safety radios will have encryption capability. Some talk groups will employ encryption to protect sensitive communications. No commercially available scanners will be able to decode the encrypted talk groups. Frequencies: 866.06250; 866.55000; 866.80000; 867.10000; 867.56250; 868.13750; 868.52500; 868.82500 Talk Groups: The talk groups in this listing are the primary talk groups for public safety.
